Little sketch character and one storyboard scrap for new project

This is so rough...i did this inside a book with a dull pencil at Cant Fail Cafe across from Pixar..being in close range to such a place makes you feel like you should be drawing...

Flapjacks Butt

AGHHH Artist block and watching TV

Ive been feeling like all my artwork is crap...i never finish anything (did i ever?) and i never want to show any of the good stuff..cus theres only about two good things. Ive decided to just start with a view character designs. Ive been wanting to do a awesome cartoon but im in the process of personal crap and moving. I feel like my hands dont want to do whats in my brain...my art never sucked so bad three years ago. my lines where cleaner...sharper..darker and my art seemed a lot more happy..i wasnt worried with what it looked like..and i think that was a good thing. I get a little to wrapped up in the pressure of becoming an intern at a hot shot animation company. If i dont get chosen then whatll i do? Mope and keep drawing all frantic. Asking for help on art is kinda odd to me. I dont know how. Even composing a letter to any one anywhere i get nervous and feel like the whole act of writing is stupid. So...i think starting tomorrow im going to sit down and watch non cartoon TV (not to get ideas but perhaps take a break from any cartoon watching). I watch cartoons all day and not any "actual" shows. I started to watch Flapjack and then switched over to Dexters Lab (booth on the same channel's website). I like flapjack alright but Dexters lab has something that really grabs me. What i like about flapjack (ep Behind the curtain) is its very whimsical and easy for kids to follow. It has comedy that kids will find funny. I tested both of them out on two hard to please 10 year olds.

XOXO

Scribbles of the day 2

A) Nude model in class. B) Girl across the room

EW This looks bad from this angle

got a new camera!! (more on that later) and this does not look so good right now...just a rock with a grassy hill.... ill change the color later

just some drawings from line paper/sketch books/random paper

monkey puppet

A puppet i made that i tried to sell at the Cherry Festival booth during my seven year stretch as a portrait artist at fairs. I made it at my last event but i think children where a bit turned off by its face..of course at the time i thought it looked like a brown elmo with a tail so i didnt catch on..i gave it to my mom and it sits at her desk now...i made this when i was really into puppetry and even thought about going to Con U to major in it (the only uni that has that major). I had made a profile on a puppet website and everything..i thought this looked rad when i made it..haha i just think it looks kinda funny now..id be much better so maybe ill take a crack at it..

Barn Yard set

Just something i threw together over the weekend..it does not look as good and polished as my graverd set due to the fact that i didnt have a large box and  Michael's arts and crafts/Blicks are expensive for supplies so i bought what i could afford for this little project..better luck next time... Here is a in the making shot...not sure if i'll finish it later...

John Sterling...

I thought Gaga's Born This Way is a little preachy and hey look know you know. I wanted to suggest situations to people about QLGBT subjects..leave them my ambiguous opinion on "unsafe" subjects...here is the subject of cross dressing or even trans gender issues...its what you make of it...

New Little Sketch book

A old friend

People studies

Flynn from Tangled

My cus gave me a little blue sketch book not to long ago (days) that i have already demolished....i mean it looks gross...gum stuck on it pages ripped out and ugly scribbles everywhere...i drew some decent stuff but i feel as thought im going through a slump or artist block. It'd be easier to focus if bugs didn't keep hatching in my face ( its nearing summer and i geuss bugs started going crazy).

Tattoo

I kinda want a tattoo but i dont know where....it cant be tacky...really visible or fuzzy. Sharpie drawings on skin do not make a great tattoo...if i had them trace it i bet it'd come out wonky looking..plus the foot is a sensitive body part!

What ever happen to Amy?

where did she go? kinda miss her  ..I think I made her look more strung out than she looks

The Graveyard Follow Up Post

When  i did this set i had very little cash to work with (not like its any diff now) and i was still in High school and it was nearing June. I worked that summer and made enough money to afford 30 dollars worth of supplies to recreate a graveyard i had envisioned in my minds eye. I needed an armature, polymer clay, paint, craft items for the set design as well as puppet costume. Only upon purchasing said items did i realize that i was not prepared (finance/mental) to embark on a feature length (5 mins) stop motion film. I threw out more than half of my idea and settled for a shoe box edition! Enjoy...

Materials =

Black and brown acrylic paint
Polymer clay
Planter moss
Toothpicks
Sculpting tools
Construction Paper
Glue gun
Illustration of model design

The Graveyard Preview

A few years ago i became enamored with intricate specifics of The Nightmare Before Christmas. I became obsessed with detail. Before I had simply watched the film and enjoyed it. I started noticing the wonderfully flawed details and jumps..the brilliant smoothness of movement..textures and textiles popping from the back round. As an homage to the greatness that is TNBC and stop motion as a whole i decided to recreate a Graveyard set. My set is not close to anything in TNBC but i ran with the graveyard/halloween theme. When i add more pictures to a collection i will post them!  XOXO
